Flood House is a Grade II-listed thatched cottage in Bothenhampton, just outside Bridport in Dorset. Sympathetically updated across three floors, it sleeps six guests and is packed with original features including impressive timber beams, original window seats and a wood burner-effect gas fire. It's a proper old cottage that's been done properly.
West Bay is just one mile away reachable on foot via the cycle path. The beach and harbour are right there. The Jurassic Coast stretches in both directions: Abbotsbury is 9 miles east and Lyme Regis is 10. 5 miles west along the coastal path.
Three bedrooms sleep six: a king-size with en-suite shower room on the first floor, a double bedroom with dressing table and window seat also on the first floor and a spacious family bedroom in the eaves with a king-size bed plus a single.
Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens (14 miles), Symondsbury Estate (14 miles), Forde Abbey and Gardens (14 miles) and Chesil Beach are all within easy reach.
Flood House suits families, walkers and couples alike. A soothing hot tub sits in the enclosed south-facing garden with a generous lawn, patio seating and a BBQ. Three dogs welcome too.
