Delightful property in midst of country lanes. Bedrooms compact. Accessibility was a minor issue for me with two sets of stairs to get down to Lodge from parking area. Farm shop was useful. Pub across road (The Fox) was excellent.

A lovely lodge with beautiful views and in a good location to visit local attractions, such as The Tank Museum, Kingston Lacy and the Cerne Giant. It would have been 5/5 apart from a few minor points: it wasn’t spotlessly clean - those beautiful views would be improved by clean windows to look out, and much of the crockery in the cupboards had been put away dirty. A fallen book behind a bedside cabinet also revealed crisp packets and inches of dust! Equipment wise, a laundry basket and more than one anti-slip shower mat would be good (as there are 3 showers!). Finally, considering the price we paid, a ‘welcome pack’ consisting of a packet of biscuits seemed a bit paltry (for comparison, last summer we stayed in a house for less then half the price and were left 2 bottles of wine, unopened boxes of teabags and jar of coffee, milk, biscuits, butter and eggs). The lodge won with the hot tub though, which was used everyday and was particularly excellent for stargazing. We also visited the excellent pub The Fox. It was handy having a shop on the farm, but note this is a shop on a farm not a ‘farm shop’ with gourmet produce!We would have written all these points in the guest book, but it had ran out of pages in March and not been renewed. Overall though a lovely week.
