About Dorset Cottage

Dorset Cottage is a detached farmhouse tucked away along a quiet lane in Bridport, Dorset. This spacious country retreat offers stunning views across rolling fields and sits just 1.5 miles from town. Perfect for large families or groups looking to escape the daily grind without completely losing touch with civilization. Whoever designed this place knew exactly what they were doing.

The location is spot on. Set in the gorgeous Dorset countryside with walking trails right from the doorstep. The Jurassic Coast is a short drive away, as are Lyme Regis and Abbotsbury Swannery. The nearby village (10 minutes by car) has a pub, café and farm shop for essentials. You'll never run out of things to do – unless that's exactly what you want.

The farmhouse sleeps 9 guests across 4 flexible bedrooms. There's a super-king zip-link room with en-suite, a triple room with super-king plus single (also en-suite) and two king-size zip-link rooms. The main bathroom features a bath with hand-held shower and separate shower cubicle. Downstairs you'll find a cozy sitting room with wood burner, dining room with open fire and fully equipped kitchen with range oven.

We had a fantastic time at this charming old farmhouse. It’s really cosy and warm, perfect for a relaxing break. The views across the fields are stunning and super peaceful. The hot tub was a real highlight, even in November we made good use of it! Plus, the trampoline was a nice surprise. Great spot, not far from the coastand we'd happily return anytime. Really loved it!

We had such a lovely stay! The view was absolutely stunningand the house itself was really comfortable. Switching all the beds to singles was a big bonus for us. The garden was perfect with the hot tub, trampolineand ping pong - kids loved it! The slope meant no cricket, but plenty of football instead. Walking to the pub is possible, but often it’s closed on the way back, so most places are a car ride away. Dorset truly is a beautiful county with peaceful spots if you explore a bit.

The house itself is beautifully decorated and super cosy, especially on a chilly January day. The hot tub was a highlight, nice and warm, though a bit tricky to adjust. We did have some trouble with water pressure, which meant showers and flushing weren’t always smooth, likely because of the rural location and spring-fed water. Still, overall a lovely place to unwind!
